Disclosed are compositions and methods for preventing the recurrence of an episode of atrial fibrillation and/or atrial flutter without also inducing torsades de pointes or ventricular fibrillation in a human patient that has previously undergone an episode of atrial fibrillation and/or atrial flutter.
