PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kit easily producing CO2 without mixing a carbonate and an acid by manual operation of a user, and retaining the produced CO2 in order to maintain cosmetic effect brought by CO2.SOLUTION: A kit producing and retaining carbon dioxide comprises a first compartment comprising a first composition comprising at least one carbonate, a second compartment comprising a second composition comprising at least one acid, and a dispenser discharging a mixture of the first composition with the second composition, where each viscosity at 20°C of the first composition and the second composition is 2,000 to 60,000 mPa s, preferably 5,000 to 50,000 mPa s, and more preferably 10,000 to 40,000 mPa s.
