PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sphygmomanometer which enables correct measurement of blood pressure in the case when the upper arm of a patient is thicker than usual.SOLUTION: A sphygmomanometer includes an arm band part and measures blood pressure by winding the arm band part around the upper arm of a person to be measured and by applying pressure thereto. The sphygmomanometer includes an air bag 20 for ischemia which is disposed in the arm band part and presses an artery of the upper arm to perform the ischemia by sending air thereto, and an air bag 40 for detecting artery pulsation which is fixed to the air bag 20 for ischemia and detects the pulsation of the artery of the upper arm by sending air thereto.
