1mmunostimulatory oligoribonucleotides (ORN) featuring 5'-triphosphates andvarious 5'-triphosphate analogs areprovided. Also provided are physiologically acceptable salts of theimmunostimulatory ORN and pharmaceutical compositionscontaining the immunostimulatory ORN of the invention. ORN of the inventionare useful as adjuvants and can be combined withan antigen to promote an antigen- specific immune response. ORN of theinvention are also particularly useful for promoting aTh1 -type immune response. Also provided are methods of use of the compoundsand pharmaceutical compositions of the inventionto enhance an immune response in a subject, as well to treat a number ofconditions including cancer, infection, allergy, andasthma, and to vaccinate a subject against an antigen.
