PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which leakage of body fluid is appropriately prevented even in the case of soft and watery excrement and absorption performance of the body fluid is improved.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 has a liquid permeable top sheet 21, a liquid impermeable back sheet 22, and an absorber 23 arranged between the top sheet and the back sheet. The top sheet is composed of two or more liquid permeable nonwoven fabrics, and only in a body side top layer sheet, a pair of left and right first slits 213 are formed almost symmetrically around a center line A of the absorbent article extending in a longitudinal of the absorbent article. The first slit is formed into an almost U shape and opens in a central direction in a width direction or outside in the width direction in a planar view.
