PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing apparatus while exploiting the characteristics of a food material by overheated steam, and a method therefor.SOLUTION: A food material processing apparatus comprises: a container, into which a food material is poured transfer means having a tunnel part, through which said container passes, for transferring said container in said tunnel part and variation means for applying motions such as vibrations or rotations to said container.
