PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shorts-type absorbent article manufacturing method capable of efficiently manufacturing a shorts-type absorbent article with excellent outer appearance and absorption performance, where a liquid hardly leaks even to the outer surface side of an exterior material.
SOLUTION: The shorts-type absorbent article manufacturing method is the method for manufacturing the shorts-type absorbent article which includes an absorbent core and the exterior material, where elastic members around a waist are arranged to be extended in the width direction of the exterior material in regions where the longitudinal direction ends of the absorbent core in the longitudinal direction of the exterior material are positioned, and in which the elastic members around the waist show elastic expansion on the outer sides of both side edges in the absorbent core and do not show elastic expansion between the both side edges. The method includes: a process for introducing the continuous bodies 23AS of the elastic members around the waist into between two belt shape sheets 21S, 22S for forming the exterior material a process for pressing and cutting the introduced continuous bodies 23AS together with the two belt shape sheets 21S, 22S in at least one of paired exterior parts positioned outward from the respective positions of both the side edges in the absorbent core and a core arrangement process for arranging the absorbent core 34 between the paired exterior parts after performing cutting.
