A lancet drive has a driving rod (9) that is coupled to the lancet in the functional position to execute a controlled lancing movement along a stitch axis. A test element is assigned to the lancet for carrying a blood sample to analyze the sample. An integrated drive unit comprises the lancet drive, the switching device, and a generating device for generating a sample transfer movement perpendicular to the stitch axis.
