The present invention provides a pharmaceutical product comprising (a) a glass container, and (b) a diphosphonate solution for injection placed in the glass container, wherein the container has a surface contacting said diphosphonate solution for injection, said surface being pretreated by a chelating reagent whereby the diphosphonate solution for injection exhibits improved shelf stability. The present invention also provides a method for preparing the aforementioned pharmaceutical product.
