The present invention concerns implantable guides, and more particularly medical devices of biological origin, and the method for preparing same. The implantable guides consist of a segment of umbilical artery or vein of which the wall is inverted, viro-inactivated, lyophilised and sterile, and can be implanted without prior rehydration. The present invention is intended, in particular, for the tissue regeneration of severed tissues such as nerves, ligaments and tendons, by bridging between the two ends of severed tissue.
