Implantable medical devices, in particular metal prostheses, having a coating layer comprising a nanostructured hydroxyapatite doped with zinc ions and functionalized with lactoferrin, and the relative production process. Said coating guarantees a high antimicrobial effect, in particular with respect to the main bacterial reference strains, which is exerted not only when the implant is inserted, but also when the same has been completed. This coating also has biomimetic properties which are such as to favour osseointegration processes and remain perfectly attached to the prosthesis without causing detachments which are extremely dangerous for the stability and duration of the prosthesis itself.La présente invention concerne des dispositifs médicaux implantables, en particulier des prothèses métalliques, comportant une couche de revêtement comprenant une hydroxyapatite nanostructurée dopée avec des ions de zinc et fonctionnalisée avec de la lactoferrine, et un procédé de production associé. Ledit revêtement garantit un effet antimicrobien élevé, en particulier sur les principales souches bactériennes de référence, qui est exercé non seulement lorsque l'implant est inséré, mais également lorsque celui-ci a été achevé. Ce revêtement présente en outre des propriétés biomimétiques de façon à favoriser des processus d'ostéo-intégration et rester parfaitement fixé à la prothèse sans causer des détachements qui sont extrêmement dangereux pour la stabilité et la durée de vie de la prothèse elle-même.
