The present invention relates to improved glucocorticoid therapy and to treatment or prevention of a number of disorders that are due to a diminished or disrupted endogenous glucocorticoid secretory pattern. The invention is based on the findings that producing a specific serum Cortisol time profile that mimics the circadian rhythm of Cortisol of a healthy subject in a subject offering from a diminished or disrupted glucocorticoid secretory pattem gives benefits with respect to reduction of side-effects.
