PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus and a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, capable of more appropriately setting an effective range of time intervals to be used for synchronous imaging.SOLUTION: A medical image diagnostic apparatus according to an embodiment comprises a collection unit, a derivation unit, a setting unit, and a display control unit. The collection unit collects information on time intervals showing a period of a biological signal of an analyte. The derivation unit derives a distribution of the time intervals by performing statistical processing using the information on the time intervals. The setting unit sets an effective range, a range of the time intervals to be used as a condition for determining data that is effective in synchronous imaging in synchronization with the biological signal.
