A method for screening a material for preventing or treating ischemic diseases comprises: a step of contacting with a sample to be analyzed to cells containing VEGFR-3 protein or the gene encoding the protein a step of measuring VEGFR-3 protein level, activity, or gene expression level and a step of determining the sample as a material for preventing or treating ischemic diseases.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012본 발명은 VEGFR-3(vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3)의 신규한 용도에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로 VEGFR-3(vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3) 단백질 또는 상기 단백질을 암호화하는 핵산을 포함하는 허혈 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물 및 상기 VEGFR-3 단백질 또는 유전자를 이용한 허혈 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 물질을 스크리닝 하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 상기 VEGFR-3는 허혈 손상시 허혈 중심부위(ischemic core)의 뇌 대식세포(brain macrophage)에서 과발현되어 식세포 작용(phagocytosis) 및 세포증식 활성을 촉진시킬 수 있고, 나아가 신경혈관재생(neurovascular remodeling) 및 외부 대식세포를 침윤(infiltrating exogenous macrophage)하는 활성을 통해 허혈 질환을 효율적으로 예방 또는 치료할 수 있는 효과가 있으므로 허혈질환을 위한 새로운 치료제로 사용될 수 있다.
