Disclosed is a flow element for flexible needles used for spinal or epidural anaesthesia medicament delivery to prevent flow restriction within the needle. The flow element has a medical grade plastic body having an internal flow path for conducting a fluid through a flexible needle. A conduit coupled to a first end of the body supplies fluid or liquid through the internal flow path of the body. A support hub is coupled to the body, and removably attaches to a flexible needle to position the internal flow path of the body in fluid communication with a lumen of a flexible needle. A medical grade stainless steel anti-restriction member has an elongated body made of at least two wires, a proximal end coupled to the body within the internal flow path, and a distal end adapted for disposing the elongated body within a flexible needle previously inserted within a subject. The anti-restriction member is placed within the flexible needle to permit fluid flow through and to resist occlusion blockage of the fluid flow.
