摘要:
peptides and their use in the immunodiagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis. juvenile idiopathic arthritis (aij) is characterized by persistent arthritis of unknown cause that begins before the age of 16. rheumatoid arthritis (air) is the most common inflammatory joint disease in adults and affects approximately 1% of the world population. currently, the diagnosis of aij and air is based on the clinical history of patients and the detection of rheumatoid factor, which has low specificity, sensitivity and its prognostic value is controversial, since it can be detected even in individuals without manifestations of rheumatic disease. due to the need for new diagnostic methods, we selected, through the technology of phage display, peptides that mimic autoantigens present in aij and tested their potential in differentiating healthy individuals from patients with aij or air. these peptides were selected from libraries that display random peptides on the phage surface (phage display), which bound to the purified antibodies from the serum of patients with aij. a total of 38 peptides binding to the purified lggs from patients with aij were obtained after the selection process. our results demonstrate that peptide # 20 is able to significantly discriminate patients with aij from healthy children, as well as patients with air from healthy adults by the elisa immunoassay and can potentially be used to build new platforms for the detection of aij and air.peptídeos e sua utilização no imunodiagnóstico da artrite reumatoide e artrite idiopática juvenil. a artrite idiopática juvenil (aij) é caracterizada por artrite persistente de causa desconhecida que se inicia antes dos 16 anos de idade. a artrite reumatoide (ar) é a doença articular inflamatória mais comum em adultos e afeta aproximadamente 1 % da população mundial. atualmente, o diagnóstico da aij e da ar é baseado na história clínica dos pacientes e na detecção do fator reumatóide, que possui baixa
