PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guidewire capable of achieving both torque transmission property and shaping property and reducing the bump resistance when a tip of the guidewire bumps against something, for example a blood vessel wall.SOLUTION: A guidewire 1 comprises: a flexible core wire 2 having a constant-outer-diameter part 21 at the distal end thereof； and a plate-like part 3 provided about the constant-outer-diameter part 21 of the core wire 2 and formed in a plate shape along the longitudinal direction of the core wire 2. The plate-like part 3 has an insertion hole 31 through which the constant-outer-diameter part 21 is inserted.
