PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an image of high quality even with an imaging sequence or a magnet liable to be affected by residual magnetic field by reducing artifacts due to a fluctuation of irregular magnetic field in the residual magnetic field.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus is provided which comprises a shimming means which carries out shimming to adjust uniformity of a magnetic field by means of a predetermined shimming sequence and a measurement controlling means which controls measurement of echo signals from a subject arranged within a static magnetic field by means of a predetermined imaging sequence.
