PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing spawning of apple snails in which the spawning of the apple snails to coast wall surfaces of water passages and paddy fields can be prevented without needing excessive labor and cost.SOLUTION: A back side surface of a mat 10 with walk obstruction means 11 to obstruct walking of apple snails 50, provided on a front side surface, is applied to a part higher than a water surface β on a wall surface α in the periphery of a water passage or water storage district. Thereby, the apple snails 50 are prevented from climbing and spawning the upper side higher than a part with the mat 10 stuck thereon.
