PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice packing material which allows the packing material to be easily removed from above the rice.SOLUTION: The rice packing material includes: an outer film 14 having a rectangular form, with a belt-like detachable part 12 disposed along the entire length in the longer direction an inner film 16 fixed to the outer film 14 at proper spots in the peripheral part with heat sealing such that the two sheets of the film are overlaid on the outer film 14 with the marginal parts in the width direction in a shifted state and a food material sheet 18 inserted between the outer film 14 and the inner film 16. The two sheets of the inner film 16 include a wide film piece 16a and a narrow film piece 16b which is narrower than the wide film piece 16a. The narrow film piece 16b is disposed on the long side 10d.
