The present invention relates to a novel BHK-21 cell line available for suspension culture in a serum-free medium and to a method for manufacturing a foot-and-mouth disease vaccine using the same, wherein a novel BHK-21 cell could be suspension-cultured under serum-free conditions and the virus productivity was also increased compared to wild-type BHK-21 cells, and thus it is possible to utilize the novel BHK-21 cells of the present invention for the manufacture of various useful substances such as viruses, proteins, peptides and the like.본 발명은 무혈청 배지에서 현탁 배양이 가능한 신규 BHK-21 세포주 및 이를 이용한 구제역 백신 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 신규 BHK-21 세포는 혈청이 없는 조건에서 현탁 배양이 가능하고 바이러스 생산성 또한 야생형 BHK-21 세포에 비해서 증가하였으므로, 본 발명의 신규 BHK-21 세포를 이용하여 백신용 바이러스, 단백질, 펩타이드 등 다양한 유용물질의 생산에 활용될 수 있다.
