A system for collecting and disposing of liquid medical waste includes a fluid collection cart (12) and a draining and cleaning station (173). The fluid collection cart (12) includes a pair of containers (32a, 32b), each of which includes a draining port (34) and a cap (54a, 54b). Each cap (54a, 54b) includes an outer portion (130) having a flushing port (154) and an inner portion (132) having vacuum (56) and patient (58) ports. The inner cap portion (130) is disposable and removably positioned within the outer cap portion (130). The cart (12) includes a regulator (76) so a low vacuum level may be pulled on one of the containers (32a) while a full vacuum level is pulled on the other container (32b), Fluids are collected in the containers (32a, 32b) via suction tubes (62a, 62b) connected to the patient ports (58a, 58b). The flushing (154) and drain (34) ports of the containers (32a, 32b) are connected to corresponding flushing (176) and drain (178) connectors on the station (173) when the containers (32a, 32b) are full so that they may be drained and flushed.
