A bone fixation wire includes an elongate member defining an outer wall, a retaining member disposed on the outer wall between the elongate member first end and the geometric midpoint of the axial length of the elongate member on the lengthwise axis, and a stopping member disposed on the elongate member and contacting the retaining member.
