PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent for a capsule, imparting adhesion-preventing properties and moisture-absorption-preventing properties to a non-gelatin capsule by being coated on the surface of the non-gelatin capsule, preventing the change of the appearance of the non-gelatin capsule, and hardly reducing the easiness of disintegration to provide a surface-coated non-gelatin capsule coated with the coating agent for the capsule and to provide a method for producing the surface-coated non-gelatin capsule.SOLUTION: The coating agent for the capsule contains a fatty acid ester of glycerol, and a water-soluble film-forming agent, and is used for coating the surface of the non-gelatin capsule formed out of a non-gelatin material. The surface-coated non-gelatin capsule has the surface coated with the coating agent for the capsule.
