A method for making an implantable pulse generator is disclosed herein. The implantable pulse generator may include a body defining an inner volume and a plurality of wires extending from outside the inner volume of the body. Some of these wires can be connected directly to the leads or indirectly through a welded joint. A welded joint can be formed by first resistance welding some of the wires to the connector and then laser welding.
