The invention relates to medicine, particularly to ophthalmology, and can be used for treating patients with senile cataract.According to the invention, it is carried out the local anesthesia, is treated the operative field, is applied the blepharostat, is performed an incision of conjunctiva in the limbus region at the level of 10°°-14°° oclock and of cornea, in the same region, at the level of 11°°-13°° oclock, is opened the anterior chamber, is performed the anterior capsulorhexis, is removed the nucleus and lenticular masses, are introduced 0.3 ml of sterile air into the anterior chamber, is visualized the residual anterior lens capsule by pressing the iris in the pupil area at the level of 18°° oclock with a device consisting of two metal plates of a width of 2 mm, interconnected at an angle of 135°, one of the plates of a length of 30 mm, and the second of 7 mm, introduced with the smaller plate into the anterior chamber, namely on the front surface of the iris, after which on the surface of said plate is slid the artificial lens and is implanted in the capsular sac, then the device is removed, is sutured the cornea and conjunctiva, is subconjunctivally administered a steroid preparation, an antibiotic and is applied a monocular aseptic bandage.Invenţia se referă la medicină, şi anume la oftalmologie, şi poate fi aplicată în tratamentul pacienţilor cu cataractă senilă.Conform invenţiei, se efectuează anestezia locală, se prelucrează câmpul operator, se aplică blefarostatul, se efectuează o incizie a conjunctivei în regiunea limbului la nivelul orelor 10°°-14°° şi a corneei, în aceeaşi regiune, la nivelul orelor 11°°-13°°, se deschide camera anterioară, se efectuează capsulorexisul anterior, se înlătură nucleul şi masele cristaliniene, se introduc 0,3 ml de aer steril în camera anterioară, se vizualizează capsula cristaliniană anterioară restantă prin apăsarea uşoară a irisului în aria pupilară la nivelul orei 18°° cu un dispozitiv, format din două plăci metali
