Embodiments of the disclosure relate to tourniquet devices (10, 120, 300) that have a strap (12, 130) which store an extension (20, 126, 306) in a pocket ( 30). The extension can be deployed and wrapped around a ring (36, 132, 308) of the strap to cinch the strap against an appendage to reduce blood flow below the tourniquet device. Some embodiments include a ratchet device (14) that further constricts the appendage to reduce blood flow. These tourniquet devices (10, 120, 300) can be worn in water and out of water and can be associated with various water sport accessories.
