The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating inflammatory disease, containing terrein as an effective ingredient. The terrein expresses the effect of inhibiting activation of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and p65 protein phosphorylation in macrophages, thereby being valuably used as the effective ingredient of the pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating the inflammatory disease.본 발명은 테레인(terrein)을 유효성분으로 포함하는 염증성 질환 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것으로, 상기 테레인은 대식세포에서 IL-6(interleukin-6) 활성 및 p65 단백질 인산화를 유의적으로 억제하는 효과를 나타냄으로, 상기 테레인을 염증성 질환 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물의 유효성분으로 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
