A method for assessing the neurological phenomena of hemispheric lateralization is described, wherein a programmed test apparatus is provided for submitting a test series to a subject and acquiring the related responses from the subject. Visual and/or auditory, stimuli randomly selected from a set of previously prearranged stimuli, are submitted to the subject. Upon completion of the test, wherein the visual and/or auditory stimuli are submitted to the subject for a fixed number of times, the test apparatus calculates a numerical value representative of the neurological phenomenon of visuo-spatial and audio-spatial attention lateralization on the basis of the responses given by the subject to different visual and auditory stimuli.
