The invention relates to the cosmetic use of at least one extract of yeast of the Saccharomyces genus as an agent for improving the brightness and/or the transparency and/or the sheen of the skin tone of a person, as well as to a composition containing at least said yeast extract and a depigmenting agent. The invention further relates to a cosmetic treatment method for improving the brightness of the skin tone of a person, including applying at least said extract, or a composition containing said extract, onto the skin.
