PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device and a treatment method capable of immediately shutting down or reducing an intraluminal flow in a living body, thereby reducing the burden on a patient.SOLUTION: Provided is a medical device 1, comprising: a long shaft portion 40 insertable into a blood vessel an expandable balloon 50 disposed at a tip of the shaft portion 40 and a tube structure 10 which is formed generally in a tubular shape by wires with spacings 13 provided, and which is mounted to an outer peripheral surface of the balloon 50 in a contracted state before the balloon 50 expands and plastically deforms so as to increase its diameter with the expansion of the balloon 50. The tube structure 10 has a plurality of weakened portions 17 in a circumferential direction, wherein in each weakened portion, a plurality of weakened elements 16 less rigid than adjacent portions of the wires are arranged in parallel with the shaft center in one row.
