[Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of providing a (sugar chain)-polypeptide complex which can be formed into a transparent and homogeneous hydrogel in a broad pH range. [Solution] The present invention provides a (sugar chain)-polypeptide complex, said complex being characterized in that the polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence which is composed of 8 to 34 amino acid residues and in which a polar amino acid residue and a non-polar amino acid residue are arranged alternately, and one or more sugar chains are bound to the polypeptide.
