According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a soilless system for high density plant growth, said system including a greenhouse type structure, at least one elongate support member arranged substantially vertically in the greenhouse type, structure, the support member having a body having a flow channel defined therein, and a plurality of vertically spaced apart receptacles angularly disposed to the vertical axis of the body for receiving a plant therein, the. receptacles being in flow communication with the flow channel, a fluid supply system in fluid communication with the flow channel for supplying a fluid stream to the said flow channel and a fluid collection system for collecting residual fluid which has flowed through the flow channel.Selon un aspect, linvention concerne un système hors-sol permettant la croissance de plante à haute densité, ledit système comprenant une structure de type serre, au moins un élément de support allongé disposé sensiblement verticalement dans la structure de type serre, lélément de support ayant un corps ayant un canal découlement défini à lintérieur de ce dernier, et une pluralité de réceptacles espacés verticalement disposés de façon angulaire par rapport à laxe vertical du corps pour recevoir une plante à lintérieur de ces derniers, les réceptacles étant en communication fluidique avec le canal découlement, un système dalimentation en fluide en communication fluidique avec le canal découlement pour fournir un courant de fluide audit canal découlement, et un système de collecte de fluide pour collecter un fluide résiduel qui sest écoulé à travers le canal découlement.
