The present invention provides an ice plant breeding apparatus and method. The breeding apparatus includes a plant container, a reservoir container and a porous material. The plant container is provided with a breeding medium which contains 5% to 50% of a far-infrared material by weight based on the total weight of the breeding medium, for breeding an ice plant. The porous material supplies a breeding fluid from the reservoir container to the breeding medium in the plant container through capillary action.
