The present invention shows anti-NME antibodies and their use in treating or preventing disease. The present invention relates to a method for treating or preventing cancer in a subject patient comprising administering to the subject patient an antibody made against a member of the NME family. The NME family can be the NME7 family. The antibody can bind to NME7, or the antibody can bind to NME7-AB or an NME-AB-like protein, or the antibody can bind to NME7-XI. The antibody can inhibit binding between NME7 and its cognate binding partner.
