PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly-effective liquid presence detector with simple and compact configurations, and an air developing apparatus provided with the detector.SOLUTION: The liquid presence detector includes an air magnesium battery 20 and an electric load 40 consuming the electricity generated by the battery 20, the battery 20 having a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a liquid storing part in between, and a liquid absorbing part extending from the liquid storing part to a detection point LLow for detecting the presence of liquid 11. When the liquid 11 exists at the detection point LLow, the liquid absorbing part is wet with the liquid 11 and the liquid storing part stores the liquid 11 as an electrolyte so that the air magnesium battery 20 is activated and serves as a power source.
