The present invention relates to a composition including vitamin D3 up-regulated protein 1 (VDUP1) as an active ingredient for inhibiting endotoxic shock. More specifically, the VDUP1 has an effect of significantly inhibiting NLRP3-dependent IL-1 secretion through an NF-&kappa；B/HIF-1&alpha；/iNOS path with respect to LPS-induced inflammation signals. Therefore, the VDUP1 gene or a vector including the same gene can be advantageously used for inhibiting endotoxic shock, preventing and treating septicemia.본 발명은 VDUP1(Vitamin D3 up-regulated protein 1)을 유효성분으로 포함하는 내독소 쇼크 억제용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 상기 VDUP1이 LPS 유발 염증 신호에 있어서 NF-κB/HIF-1α/iNOS 경로를 통해 NLRP3 의존적 IL-1 분비를 유의적으로 억제하는 효과를 나타내므로, 상기 VDUP1 유전자 또는 유전자를 포함하는 벡터는 내독소 쇼크 억제용 조성물, 및 패혈증 예방 및 치료용 조성물로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
