The present invention is further directed to methods treating insulin resistance by administering a therapeutically effective amount of Insulin-like Growth Factor-binding protein-2. The present invention is directed to methods of treating hepatic steatosis by administering a therapeutically effective amount of an Insulin-like Growth Factor-binding protein-2. The present invention is also directed to methods lowering blood glucose and serum insulin in non-diabetic subjects by administering a therapeutically effective amount of Insulin-like Growth Factor-binding protein-2.
