According to one embodiment of the present invention, a drug injection device for automatically injecting a drug into the body of a patient comprises: a main body； a mounting unit which is disposed at a lower part of the main body, and on which a pinion protrudes； a driving unit which is disposed inside the main body and configured to rotate the pinion protruding on the mounting unit； and a drug cartridge which is separably mounted on the mounting unit, and when mounted, provides a drug to be injected into a patient. More specifically, the drug cartridge comprises: a body which includes an open one side, includes a space to retain the drug to be injected into the patient, includes, at the bottom surface thereof, a first insertion hole in which the pinion is inserted, and includes, at the other side thereof, a discharge hole from which the drug retained in the space is discharged； and a piston member which discharges the drug retained in the space to the discharge hole. More specifically, the piston member comprises: a piston rod which, when the drug cartridge is mounted on the mounting unit, forms a rack that is configured to engage with the pinion inserted in the first insertion hole, and performs a linear movement by a movement of the rack due to a rotation of the pinion； and a piston which is formed at an end portion of the piston rod, in the shape corresponding to the shape of a cross-section of the space, and by the linear movement of the piston rod, pushes the drug retained in the space toward the discharge hole to discharge the same.본 발명의 일실시 예에 따른 약물주입기는, 약물을 자동으로 환자 체내로 주입하는 약물주입기에 있어서, 본체； 상기 본체의 하부에 구비되며, 피니언(pinion)이 돌출되는 장착부； 상기 본체 내부에 구비되어 상기 장착부로 돌출된 상기 피니언을 회전시키는 구동부； 및 상기 장착부에 장착과 탈착이 가능하게 구비되며, 장착된 경우에 환자에게 주입할 약물을 제공하는 약물 카트리지；를 포함하고, 상기 약물 카트리지는, 일측이 열려진 형태를 가지며, 내부에 상기 환자에게 주입할 약물이 저장되는 공간을 가지며, 밑면에 상기 피니언이 삽입되는 제1삽입홀이 형성되며, 다른 일측에 상기 공간에 저장된 약물이 배출되는 배출구가 형성되는 몸체와, 상기 공간에 저장된 약물을 상기 배출구로 배출시키는 피스톤 부재；를 포함하고, 상기 피스톤 부재는, 상기 약물 카트리지가 상기 장착부에 장착된
