PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling an electric vehicle capable of causing an electric vehicle to move intentionally even when operation input deviates gradually.SOLUTION: An electric wheelchair retains an operation direction and an operation amount and sets a dead zone when an operation amount equal to or greater than a specified value is detected continuously for a nearly the same operation direction, operates an electric wheelchair on the basis of the operation direction and the operation amount retained when an operation direction and an operation amount are detected in the dead zone and operates the electric wheelchair on the basis of the operation direction and the operation amount detected when an operation direction and an operation amount are detected outside the dead zone.
