PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system which performs low power consumption in radio transmission by changing the compressibility of image data in each color component in accordance with a sensitivity characteristic and can achieve a battery operation that can accomplish a technique for a long time.SOLUTION: An endoscope system 1 includes: an endoscope 2 including an imaging part 22 provided at a tip part, an image processing part 23 for compressing picked-up image data to generate compressed image data, and a radio transmission part 24 for transmitting the compressed image data by radio; a processor 3 including a radio transmission part 34 for receiving the compressed image data, and an image processing part 33 for performing image processing of the compressed image data; a sensitivity evaluation part 52 for performing sensitivity evaluation based on a spectral characteristic of a sensor in an illumination, optical system and imaging part 22 provided in the endoscope 2 and a spectral characteristic of a subject in each color component of image data to calculate a sensitivity evaluation value; and a compressibility calculation part 54 for determining the compressibility of the image data in each color component on the basis of the sensitivity evaluation value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
