The invention relates to a device (1) for positioning an implant (2, 20, 200), which includes an instrument (3) for gripping the implant (2, 20, 200), including two portions (9, 10, 30a, 30b) capable of assuming a position for supporting the implant (2, 20, 200) and an open position enabling the implant (2, 20, 200) to be gripped, or released, once same has been implanted, and an element (4) for locking the portions (9, 10, 30a, 30b) in the supporting position, the locking element including hooking means designed to engage with complementary hooking means (12) made in a receiving cavity (16) formed by portions (9, 10, 30a, 30b) in the implant-supporting position, said means forming a sliding connection.
