PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-lead piezoelectric element which is arranged by use of a non-lead piezoelectric material and is activated stably in a wide practical temperature region.SOLUTION: The piezoelectric element comprises: a first electrode; a piezoelectric material; and a second electrode. The piezoelectric material contains, as a primary component, a perovskite metal oxide expressed by the following general formula (1): (BaCa)(TiZr)O, where 1.00≤a≤1.01, 0.02≤x≤0.30, 0.020≤y≤0.095, and y≤x). The metal oxide contains Mn; the content of Mn is 0.02-0.40 pt.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the metal oxide in terms of metal.
