Die Erfindung betrifft eine Mähfadenspule (1), zur im Mähbetrieb drehbewegbaren Anbringung an einem Schneidkopf einer Motorsense. Die Mähfadenspule (1) ist als austauschbares Verschleißteil ausgebildet, auf die eine Anzahl, beispielsweise zwei Mähfadenstränge (2) aufgewickelt ist, so dass jedes freie Fadenenden im Mähbetrieb per Fliehkraft nach radial außen gezogen wird und das durch die Drehbewegung im Mähbetrieb gestraffte, am freien Fadenende liegende Fadenstück Pflanzenhalme abschlagen kann. Die Mähfadenstränge (2) weisen eine größere Länge auf als das jeweilige, im Mähbetrieb gestraffte Fadenstück am freien Fadenende, so dass die Anzahl Mähfadenstränge (2) nach Verschleiß des Fadenstücks am freien Fadenende nachziehbar ist.
