PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for completely curing cancer patients by collapsing, at a stroke, a giant tumor that could not be completely solved by conventional immunotherapy and gene therapy, and at the same time leading to an immunostimulatory effect.SOLUTION: We have discovered a property that by introducing a specific gene into a cancer cell, swelling occurs. Therefore, by intensively introducing genes into the inside of a tumor from the feeding artery of the tumor formed by cancer cells or from the upstream artery, cancer cells swell at a stroke, press a neovessel and the feeding artery which carries nutrients, cut off nutrition supply, and thereby enable the entire tumor to collapse at a stroke. In addition, by strongly stimulating large amount of collapsed tumor fragments against immune system, immunostimulation becomes likely to occur, and by combining with also immunotherapy, which has not been so active alone, it has become possible to completely cure patients with advanced cancer including the end stage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4COPYRIGHT: (C)2020,JPO&INPIT【課題】従来の免疫療法や遺伝子治療法では完解できなかった巨大腫瘍を一気に崩壊させると同時に、免疫賦活効果を導き、がん患者を完治させる方法。【解決手段】がん細胞に特定の遺伝子を導入すると膨張する性質があることを発見した。そこで、がん細胞が形成する腫瘍の栄養動脈あるいはその上流の動脈から腫瘍内部へ遺伝子を集中的に導入することで、一気に膨張したがん細胞が、栄養を運ぶ腫瘍内の栄養動脈と新生血管を圧迫し栄養補給を断つことで、腫瘍全体を一気に崩壊させることが可能となった。また崩壊した腫瘍の大量の断片が免疫系を強力に刺激することで、免疫賦活が起こりやすくなり、従来、単独ではあまり賦活しなかった免疫療法も併用することで、末期を含む進行がんの患者を完治に導く道のりができた。【選択図】図４
