The present invention relates to an ultrasound imaging apparatus which may comprise: an ultrasound wave probe transmitting ultrasound waves to a target object and receiving echo ultrasound waves reflected from the target object to convert the received ultrasound waves into electric signals a beam forming unit beam-forming the converted signals and outputting the beam-formed signals an image restoration unit applying a point spread function (PSF) to an ultrasound image corresponding to the output signals to generate an restored image and an image post-processing unit performing a filtering operation for highlighting a peak point of the restored image. The ultrasound imaging apparatus and a control method thereof may stably set up a phase parameter used when the PSF is estimated via the filter for highlighting the peak point. Therefore, the present invention may estimate the PSF approximating an ideal PSF and performing image restoration via the estimated PSF, thereby obtaining a high resolution image.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016초음파 영상 장치는 초음파를 대상체로 송신하고, 상기 대상체로부터 반사된 에코 초음파를 수신하여 전기적 신호로 변환하는 초음파 프로브 상기 변환된 신호를 빔 포밍하여 출력하는 빔 포밍부 상기 출력된 신호에 대응하는 초음파 영상에 점 확산 함수(Point Spread Function PSF)를 적용하여, 복원 영상을 생성하는 영상 복원부 및 상기 복원 영상의 피크 지점을 강조하는 필터링을 수행하는 영상 후처리부 를 포함할 수 있다. 이와 같은 초음파 영상 장치 및 그 제어 방법에 의하면, 피크(peak)점을 강조시키는 필터를 통해, 점 확산 함수(Point Spread Function PSF)의 추정 시 이용되는 위상 파라미터를 안정적으로 설정할 수 있다. 따라서, 이상적인 점 확산 함수에 가까운 점 확산 함수를 추정할 수 있으며, 추정된 점 확산 함수를 통해 영상 복원을 수행함으로 고해상도 영상을 획득할 수 있다.
