The present invention relates to an animal model with diabetes, a method for screening a diabetes treating agent using the model, and a method for analyzing an effect of the diabetes treating agent. The animal model has various glycometabolism abnormalities such as increase in diabetes-relating components in blood, increase in glucose level in blood, degradation of insulin resistance, increase in the amount of triglyceride in liver, increase in serum ALT/AST, increase in fatty liver accumulation, increase in inflammation and the like, and is proper to understand a process of progression from obesity to diabetes, and to screen a diabetes treating agent. The animal model of the present invention is effectively used in research of progression from obesity to diabetes, and development of a treating agent against diabetes relating to obesity and inflammation.
