PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compounds and a method for determining the activity, which inhibit formation of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) due to the glycation of cutaneous proteins, in particular, collagen, accompanying aging.SOLUTION: Compositions including a biflavonoid-rich Garcinia kola extract or fraction are used to inhibit the glycation of proteins, in particular the glycation of skin collagen involved in cutaneous aging.
