A system and method for gaining access to an internal bodily structure, such as the ampullae. The system includes an elongate catheter having a lumen extending there through. An elongate wire including distal coil is movably extendable from the distal end of the catheter and is configured to engage the inner surface of the bodily structure. Proximal movement of the elongate wire flattens the inner surface of the bodily structure and aligns the passageway thereof with the longitudinal axis of the catheter.La présente invention concerne un système et une méthode donnant accès à une structure corporelle interne, telle que les ampoules. Ledit système comprend un cathéter allongé comportant une lumière se prolongeant sur toute sa longueur. Un fil métallique allongé comprenant une boucle distale peut se prolonger de façon mobile depuis lextrémité distale du cathéter et est conçu pour entrer en contact avec la surface intérieure de ladite structure corporelle. Un mouvement proximal du fil métallique allongé aplatit la surface intérieure de la structure corporelle et permet lalignement du passage qui la traverse avec laxe longitudinal du cathéter.
