A method of forming fungal materials and fungal objects from those fungal materials, the method comprising the steps of growing a first fungal tissue in contact with a nutritive vehicle； supplying a porous material in contact with said first fungal tissue； directing growth of said fungal tissue through said porous material such that a portion of said fungal tissue comprises a first fungal material having first fungal hyphae； optionally incorporating composite material； directing a change in the composition or growth pattern of at least some of said first fungal hyphae； separating at least a portion of the first fungal material from said nutritive vehicle； obtaining a second fungal material having second fungal hyphae； and forming a fungal object by encouraging fused growth between said first fungal material and said second fungal material and optionally incorporating composite material.L'invention porte également sur un procédé de formation de matériaux fongiques et d'objets fongiques à partir de ces matériaux fongiques, le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : faire croître un premier tissu fongique en contact avec un véhicule nutritif； mettre un matériau poreux en contact avec ledit premier tissu fongique； diriger la croissance dudit tissu fongique à travers ledit matériau poreux de sorte qu'une partie dudit tissu fongique comprenne un premier matériau fongique ayant une première hyphe fongique； éventuellement incorporer un matériau composite； diriger un changement dans la composition ou le modèle de croissance d'au moins une partie dudit premier hyphe fongique； séparer au moins une partie du premier matériau fongique dudit véhicule nutritif； obtenir un second matériau fongique ayant une seconde hyphe fongique； et former un objet fongique en encourageant la croissance fusionnée entre ledit premier matériau fongique et ledit second matériau fongique et facultativement incorporer un matériau composite.
